VOLOTEA: FROM THE ACTIVITY START, MORE THAN 20,000 PASSENGERS TRANSITED FROM VERONA

          14/05/2013

The low-cost company is fully satisfied with the results and confirms the implementation of the flights for the next months and November and December schedule

Verona, 14 May 2013 - Volotea, the airline connecting medium and small-sized cities to Verona, broke the tape of 20,000 passengers from the start of operationsDelighted by the performance of the routes, the low-cost company reconfirms the investment on Catullo airport, increasing the routes frequency to Palermo and Bari during high-season and announcing the flight-schedule for November and December. Moreover in September 60,000 passengers are estimated to transit to and from Verona.

"We are very happy to be in operation with two routes from Catullo - says Valeria Rebasti, Volotea Commercial Country Manager for Italy - and we are fully satisfied with the results obtained until nowBreaking the tape of 20,000 passengers, fills us with satisfaction and rewards our strategy of connecting medium and small-sized cities, like Verona, Palermo and Bari
Verona airport plays a very important role in the business strategies of the carrier, being the ideal point of arrival for those who, in addition to Veronese, want to organize short breaks or holidays to explore Garda Lake, Trentino-Alto Adige region, Brescia and Mantua and North Emilia.

"Verona airport strongly believes in the partnership with Volotea, a young and strong company on the market – highlighted Carmine Bassetti, General Director at Catullo Spa, the managing company of Verona and Brescia airports - The airport made big investments with this airline to deliver new flights to Bari and Palermo. This is rewarding our strategy of strong and progressive development, with fill factors continually growing. In the present critical situation of the overall market at national and international level, Catullo is working hard to impact the results and the start of new routes and the increased frequency of the existing ones are a very positive signal. "

"In addition to offering travelers living in Veneto a wide choice of flights - Rebasti continues - with our offer, we'd like to increase the passengers from South Italy to reach Verona and the surrounding areas, thus contributing to enhancing the Veneto tourism and strengthening the local economy. Since the start of the first flights from Verona, about 60% of transported passengers were incoming travelers, ie they landed in Catullo. "

          Verona-Bari
The first flight to Bari took off from Verona on 20 December 2012. This route includes four flights on a weekly basis and is operated exclusively by Volotea. To meet the growing demand both by passengers from Veneto and Puglia, Volotea announced to increase flights in order to offer a daily flight, that is scheduled from June 24 until September 30.

          Verona-Palermo
