Catullo’s Balance Sheet: historical record
Over 50 million Euro turnover with gross operative margin of 13 million (+ 24,7% compared to 2005)

The annual assembly of the Aeroporto Valerio Catullo di Verona Villafranca SpA has taken place this morning at Hotel Villa del Quar in Pedemonte. The shareholders of the Verona airport have unanimously approved the balance sheet for 2006. The agenda also included the presentation of the Industrial Plan of the Sistema Aeroportuale del Garda for the years 2007-2012 that has been developed in cooperation with David Jarach, professor of marketing for air transport business at the School of Management of the Bocconi University.

Catullo SpA balance sheet was closed with a profit of € 225.240, a growth of over € 710.000 in comparison with 2005 and a production value that, for the first time in the company history, has exceeded 50 million Euro, with a gross operative margin of of almost 13 million Euro and a 24,7% increase on the previous year. The profits deriving from handling operations have increased over one million Euro, while those deriving from non aviation activities (retail, parking etc) have registered a growth of over two Million Euro.

Over three Million passengers have travelled to and from Catullo in 2006, with  an increase of almost 400 people in comparison with the previous year. The number of scheduled flight passengers has increased of 17,4% – for a total of 1.768.237 people – and the favourite national destinations were Rome, Catania and Naples, while London, Frankfurt and Munich were the most chosen European connections.
Positive growth also for charter flights that, despite of some infrastructural limits no allowing for now further traffic development during summer months, have registered an increase of 8,34%, which was also due the re-established operation of long ray charter flights.
The group balance sheet for 2006 refers to the consolidation of the controlling company and the controlled companies Aeroporto G. D’Annunzio SpA, of which Valerio Catullo SpA holds the 85% of the shares, and ADG Engineering Srl, which was founded on 2nd February 2004 and is fully owned by the company heading the group Catullo Spa.  Assets amount to €99.417.094, liabilities amount to € 57.190.222 and the net worth is € 42.226.872. The Group’s profit was of € 236.234.

Excellent performance for goods handling at Brescia terminal where, on the other hand, passengers traffic has soffered the loss of the connection to Rome. In 2006 the cargo traffic was increased of 14% compared with the previous year. With 24.428 tons of goods handled the Brescia terminal is one of the leading Italian airports in cargo operations.
The most important result for 2006 was yet the agreement signed with Poste Italiane that has developed Montichiari into the national hub for mail sorting.  Starting from last April 2nd, the terminal is managing 24 air and 30 road connections in less then two hours every night (from Monday to Friday) and this activity is rapidly getting the expected performance level.

The first months of 2007 are still giving further important growing results. March was closed with an increase of over 15% so that the average growth in the first three months of the year has reached +12,7% compared to the same period of 2006.
Scheduled flight have played a central role during these first months, with a growth of 24% in domestic routes and 21,4% on international connections.
And yet the low cost Air Italy new flights are almost ready to enter into operation from the Catullo. Starting from June 1st, the budget airline will offer the following destinations for an all inclusive rate starting from € 35: London, Sofia, Warsaw, Prague, Berlin, Moscow, Barcelona and Madrid (
