Redevelopment of taxiways
Planning is under way
for the redevelopment of the taxiway of the airport. A new means of
construction is planned, which, for each layer of bitumen and cement, uses
techniques for recycling the material from which the existing taxiway was made.
The progress made in asphalt and concrete recycling techniques has led to the
development of green infrastructures, which offer numerous advantages in terms
of environmental sustainability (fewer virgin resources used, a lower impact on
traffic and transport, lower gas and noise emissions), as well as reducing
costs and the time required to carry out the work (rationalisation of
processes, lower business costs for recycling in situ, reduction in the time required to carry out the work and
related costs). The reduction in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere for the work
proposed, using recycled asphalt
rather than traditional asphalt, is estimated at around 1750 tonnes.
