        After the
great results of the summer season 2015 (+212% of the volume of the
passengers passed through Catullo Airport compared to 2014), Volotea looks into the
future, by increasing the number of daily flights to Catania for the summer 2016.

Verona, 2nd September 2015 – Volotea, the low cost airline which connects small and medium size cities, strengthens its relationship with the city of Verona and announces today the partnership with Fondazione Arena. The airline, in fact, will be the new official sponsor of  Opera, Ballet and Symphonic Season 2015-2016, offered by Fondazione Arena at Verona Philharmonic Theatre.

“Volotea is really proud to be able of supporting Fondazione Arena in its artistic development - said Carlos Munoz, president and founder of Volotea. -The partnership derives from the purpose of associating our image to a high cultural context of international fame like the one of Fondazione Arena and its artistic season at Philharmonic Theatre in Verona. At the same time, thanks to the exclusive for our sector, we hope to give our contribute in increasing the domestic and foreign touristic flow, in one of the cities which is giving us great results and on which we continue to bet”.

Verona is, in fact, one of the airports playing an important and strategic role in the development plans of the low cost airline: it is not a case that recently the airline has promoted Catullo airport to the rank of its seventh hub in Europe. Starting from 3rd November 2015, the airport of Verona will complement the Italian (Venice and Palermo) and French (Nantes, Bordeaux and Strasburg), Spanish (Asturie) bases.

“Since 2012, the year of the beginning of our activities , we have kept on growing up: only in this summer season (1st June-31st August), more than 91,000 passengers chose our airline for taking off or landing at Verona airport. An important result, if we take into consideration the fact that, in the same period of 2014, the number of passengers passed through Catullo with our Boeing 717s was 29,300: we can end the summer season with an increase of 212%”.
An important success which confirms the positive trend of Volotea in Verona, where during 2015 there will be more than 3,000 arrival and departure flights (+123% vs. 2014), with a total of more than 384,000 seats on sale.”

In these first three years, we believe we managed to build a network of attractive destinations, which responds to the requests of passengers from Verona – states again Muñoz -.
