Presentation of the Univr Go! project to students at the Zanotto Campus The agreement between the University and Verona Airport takes off
National, international and intercontinental flight connections to fly out of Verona anywhere in the world
Verona, 1st December 2011 – a show held at the Zanotto Campus with free entry for students and featuring a special appearance by the "Emo" trio of comedians, whose popularity ratings went through the roof on the Zelig show aired on national TV last season, marked the launch of the 'Univr go! Take off with your University' project. It was the official launch of the project and as a result its package of special deals is now available for anyone attending Verona University. You can apply for the For You Univr Go! card via the airport's website (http://www.aeroportoverona.it/it/passeggeri/univrgo.asp), giving card owners the benefit of checking in for their flight in the VIP Room, use of the fast track channel to go through into the departure hall, and take advantage of special parking rates and discounts in the airport shops.
The non-stop programme of entertainment and interactive dialogue with the public invited students to embark upon on a virtual exploration of the services and concessions that Verona Airport has to offer thanks to the partnership with the University, giving them the chance to reach the most desirable destinations in Italy, Europe and beyond. The project was developed in partnership with Verona Chamber of Commerce.
The network of more than one hundred destinations with direct flights from Verona is now truly accessible for those attending university at Verona thanks to the support of some of the most important Airlines flying out of Catullo and CTS (Student Travel Centre) and the special deals they have made available.
The Meridiana fly - Air Italy Group believed in the project right from the start: it has created a Promotional Code for Verona airport reserved exclusively for students, giving them the chance of a 10% discount on some routes to and from Verona for flights booked between December 1st and 15th. Destinations include: Cagliari, Catania, Chisinau, Fuerteventura, Hurghada, Olbia, Rome, Sharm El Sheikh, Tel Aviv and Tenerife. Meridiana fly-Air Italy also has plenty of special offers for intercontinental travel with connections to Havana, Holguin and Cancun or for travel to explore the wonders of Africa or the Indian Ocean with flights to Zanzibar, Mombasa and Mauritius (www.meridiana.it and www.airitaly.it).

The airline recently joined up with Oneworld, the alliance linking the world's leading international airlines; as a result, a further 900 destinations, in 150 countries across the world, will be available from 2012.
Neos Airlines and MSC Crociere are also involved in the project with a package recently launched that includes flights and a cruise in the United Arab Emirates. Until March 4th, a charter flight will link Verona with Abu Dhabi every Saturday, taking cruise passengers to join their ship for an exclusive cruise to explore the natural wonders of the Emirates and visit cities that are the symbols of modern luxury. The cruise can be booked at travel agencies with prices starting at €975 per person for the PrimaPremia rate, including flights to and from Verona, plus registration fees and obligatory insurance coverage.
Finally, the CTS network (Student Travel Centre) an association that offers students access to the best travel deals in complete safety, has put some extremely interesting international and intercontinental travel connections on the table with departures from Verona, for example: Moscow from €200, New York from €415, Rio de Janeiro from €664, Havana from €555, Istanbul from €158 and Toronto from €680.
The project will continue to be expanded and updated in coming months with new offers and services.
The evening started at 7pm when Rector Alessandro Mazzucco and President Paolo Arena visited the Univrgo display in the Zanotto Campus atrium. All of the project partners took part in the event together with the sponsors (Cattolica Assicurazione, Autodromo del Veneto, Crever Banca), giving students a warm welcome. The evening was a nonstop programme of music, fun and tributes, with a performance by the Emo trio, the hit of the season straight from the TV show Zelig.
