A resounding success for the Verona - London Gatwick flight
Verona, October 19, 2011 - easyJet, Europe's number one air carrier and the third largest airline in Italy, and Verona Airport have announced excellent results for the first four months of operation of the new Verona - London Gatwick flight. With more than 33,000 passengers to date, a load factor in excess of 90% and more than 10,000 tickets already sold for the next six months, Verona and the surrounding area have certainly shown an interest in the new project between the airline and the Airport.
More than 130,000 easyJet passengers will be travelling to and from Verona airport over the next 12 months, partly thanks to the new route to Paris Charles De Gaulle, which will be running from February 9, 2012 and can be already booked through the site www.easyJet.com from € 25.99.
"Given the excellent results achieved with the London Gatwick route, we also expect a good response for Verona - Paris," said Frances Ouseley, easyJet's Country Manager for Italy. "Our goal is to offer a simple and accessible product for business or leisure travellers alike, which is why we offer affordable fares and operate from major airports that are well-connected to the city centre."
Paolo Arena, Chairman of Catullo Spa, which manages Verona Airport, added: "We believe that the results achieved in Verona by easyJet, the biggest air travel network in Europe, are very important for the airport and for the related business that they can potentially generate in the local area. We are committed to ensuring that the airport is a central hub for the region, and is open to it in terms of relationships and synergies. The airport serves the area by encouraging the arrival of more visitors, and by allowing local residents to travel easily around the world for business, study, or holidays. After the London route, the newly opened Paris flight is a move in the right direction."
