VERONA AIRPORT SPONSORS THE ORGANISED TOURISM MEETING
Trento, 1-4 September 2011 - Verona Airport will be sponsoring the 7th edition of the Organised Tourism Meeting, scheduled for 1 – 4 September in Levico Terme, the event promoted by the Valsugana Tourist Board, the Municipality of Levico Terme, the Tourist Department of the Province and organised by Mito Eventi, Trento. This is a further manifestation of the partnership that in the previous editions of the Meeting had already seen the participation of Catullo Airport, which has always paid close attention to the needs of tourism in the Trentino area.
The presence of Verona Airport is a guarantee for the development of tourism in Trentino, especially over the last few years, during which the Province, through its Tourism Department, has decided to pay growing attention to overseas markets, in particular those in northern and eastern Europe. These efforts have borne fruit, and according to the surveys conducted by the Tourism Observatory of the Province of Trento, there has been a constant rise in numbers of both tourists from the south, who arrive in Trentino via Verona Airport, and visitors from overseas, above all from Russia. In order to handle these growing visitor numbers, for some years now, during the winter season, a Fly Ski Shuttle service has been running between Verona Airport and the main ski resorts in Trentino.
Today Catullo Airport flies to over 100 destinations, with 30 airlines, including the leading companies in the sector, offering regular, low-cost and charter flights. The 6 largest airlines in Europe (Lufthansa, Easyjet, Ryanair, Air France-KLM, BA-Iberia and Air Berlin) are present there, in addition to Air Dolomiti and Air Italy, who have made Verona Airport their base. There are 40 shops and bars in the Airport, and outside there are 4800, 750 of them covered. Travellers wishing to organise their own trip from home can visit www.gardaaeroporti.it.
