The new flights are supplementary of the confirmed efficiency. Verona, in fact, all over the year offers connections with domestic destinations such as: Bari, Cagliari, Catania, Naples, Olbia, Palermo, Rome, and International such as London, Munich, Moscow, Paris, Bucarest, Franckfurt, Djerba, Fuerteventura, Grand Canary, Marsa Alam, Sharm El Sheik, Tenerife, Tirana, Chisinau, Pristina
More in details, we underline the great performances of the daily connection with London, today managed by three Airlines (British Airways – twice a day, Monarch and Easyjet), besides the connection with Moscow, the positive connections with the South of Italy greatly managed by Volotea with excellent results. In summer there will be a strengthening in the connections with Spain and Neos in Greece, which has its base at Catullo, and whose network from Verona over the summer will reach 19 destinations (Boavista e Sal, Hurgada, Marsa Alam, Sharm El Sheik, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Las Palmas, Minorca, Palma di Maiorca, Tenerife, Creta, Karpathos, Mikonos, Rodi, Santorini, Djerba, Monastir) added to the charter schedule. During the summer season, the charter schedule, a traffic segment which sees Catullo as a leader, will be further reinforced and it completes the offer of scheduled flights.
Paolo Arena, director of Catullo Spa, management trust of Verona airport, during the opening of the summer season declared: Our purpose is to offer the best service to our area, taking advantage of the first signals of growth, underlined by the researchers, which means an improvement of the buying power per capita of about 300 Euros. According to these forecasts, the Italian families will increase their expenses for travels and holidays of 2,4% in 2015-2016. These expenses were affected by a decrease of -0,1% in 2014. With the opening of 12 new destinations we may see this trend”.
Paolo Simioni, Catullo Spa CEO, during the press conference for the summer season and the new Ryaniar flights added: “Today Verona Airport returns to be part of the network of Ryanair, a network of 1600 daily routes across the Europe. With the summer season of 2015, in fact, Ryanair returns to Verona, but this time with a partnership agreement. Besides Ryanair, I would like to mainly point out the return of Vueling to Barcelona and finally of Iberia Express to Madrid, the redouble of the number of destinations of Volotea, and the strengthening of several airlines frequencies heading for Great Britain. These destinations will be operated by reliable airlines, which can offer a structural development to the airport. This is suitable with our strategy for the airport system in the North-Est of Italy. Besides Verona, we are tangibly working for the development of Brescia airport: within April, we will start the operative inspections with Ryanair in order to plan the start of the first flights. These new changes disclose the first real signals for overcoming the economical crisis. We work for a further optimisation phase. This is the new Catullo, the one we want.
