MERIDIANA FLY - AIR ITALY PRESENT NEW ROUTES FROM VERONA AIRPORT FOR WINTER 2011/12

MERIDIANA FLY - AIR ITALY PRESENT NEW ROUTES FROM VERONA AIRPORT FOR WINTER 2011/12

Verona, October 12, 2011 - The Chairman of Catullo Spa, Paolo Arena, and the CEO of Meridiana fly-Air Italy, Giuseppe Gentile, today presented the new Group Meridiana fly in Verona. Thanks to the recent merger project with Air Italy, the Group has scheduled a flight network for the upcoming winter season especially for customers of "Aeroporti del Garda".

Meridiana fly-Air Italy has chosen Verona as the place for it to consolidate and develop its position as the leading carrier in the leisure segment and in domestic and international scheduled flights. This choice demonstrates the company's strong commitment to continuing to invest in an area that responds extremely positively to its services, including those intended to benefit the tourism industry and cultural events.

The CEO of Meridiana fly, Giuseppe Gentile, said "Meridiana fly- Air Italy has chosen Verona as the place to develop new intercontinental leisure destinations, such as Mauritius, Havana, Holguin, and Cancun: these are services that we have so far only operated from larger airports such as Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino. We believe that the catchment area of "Aeroporti del Garda" will respond to this investment enthusiastically and profitably, just as it has responded well to our other established routes to East Africa, the Red Sea, the Canary Islands, Eastern Europe and Israel. Moreover, to strengthen Verona Airport's positioning at the centre of north eastern Italy, and to bring all our customers closer, this winter we'll be launching a "take-off from home" operation, primarily for Caribbean destinations. In partnership with our tour operators, we will be setting up a coach transfer service departing from Pordenone, Milan Linate, Bologna and Bolzano to take our customers to Verona Airport, with stops in major cities of the North East."

Gentile continued by saying, "Starting this winter, Meridiana fly-Air Italy, which in 2010 achieved a market share of approximately 41% at Verona Airport, serves 20 destinations, including 14 international and 6 national destinations. We can boast a punctuality performance rate of over 80%, partly thanks to our decision to maintain the operational headquarters of our Airbus 320s at Verona's Catullo airport. Thanks to the fruitful partnership set up with Paolo Arena in August, I believe that we have laid the foundations for further growth together."

Paolo Arena, Chairman of Catullo Spa, added: "We are extremely pleased with the decision to expand the new Group's business at the airport. The opening of new routes to Mauritius and Holguin, as well as Cancun and Havana, expands the range of long-haul flights available from Verona and further strengthens a market segment which is potentially very profitable for the area and our airports. In 2010, the two airlines between them flew 1,235,282 passengers to and from Verona. Given the relevance of Meridiana fly-Air Italy's significant presence at the airport, we will cooperate to ensure that this result is the first of many projects we will develop together, not only in terms of outgoing but for incoming too, involving the entire Garda airport system."
