PAOLO ARENA IS THE NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE AIRPORTS OF VERONA AND BRESCIASEVEN-MEMBER BOD APPOINTED
Verona, 27 June 2011 – Paolo Arena is the new Chairman of Catullo Spa, the company that manages the airports of Verona and Brescia. He was today unanimously elected for a three-year term by the Shareholders’ Meeting. For the third consecutive term, the position of Deputy Chairman has been assigned to Pierluigi Angeli.
During the same session, the shareholders appointed the new Board of Directors, composed of a total of seven members. In addition to the Chairman Paolo Arena, proposed by the Chamber of Commerce of Verona (the leading shareholder, with an equity investment of 21.68%), and the Deputy Chairman Pierluigi Angeli, proposed by the Province of Trento (which together with the subsidiary Tecnofin Trentina holds a total equity investment of 19.25%, second only to the Chamber of Commerce of Verona), the new Board of Directors of Catullo is composed of Giorgio Bontempi, for the Chamber of Commerce and Province of Brescia (8.38%), Giancarlo Conta, proposed by the Municipality of Verona (which holds 6.87% of the shares), Maurizio Marino, proposed by Banca Popolare and Fondazione Cariverona (which together hold 8.06%), Ermes Martini, on behalf of the Province of Verona (the third-largest shareholder, with 17.17%) and Enio Meneghelli, presented by the Province of Trento.
“Given the importance of the agreement signed recently by the airport systems of Verona, Brescia and Trento – declared the Chairman Paolo Arena – I will work to ensure that the two airports operate as a system and that effective synergies are created so they can really function as a single airport. We will be engaging the local area in the task, and I intend to meet with the economic bodies and the institutions in order to collection indications from them and to turn those indications into concrete actions. We have a great deal of work to do on both the passenger and cargo transport fronts, in order to grasp the opportunities offered by the market”.
