Carpatair introduces direct flights from Verona to Bucharest - Otopeni
From 61.00 euros (including tax - one way)
Verona, 1st June 2010: Carpatair, the full-service airline with its hub in Timisoara, is extending its coverage at Verona Villafranca with the launch of a direct flight to Bucharest (Otopeni) as of June this year. The service will run three times a week and all-inclusive one-way flights will start at 61 euros. These extremely advantageous fares are in line with the new sales policy being implemented with the new flights introduced by Carpatair.
With this new initiative Carpatair is strengthening its position as the Romanian national and regional leader between Italy and Romania, operating the greatest number of weekly flights (158 return flights in all) serving a total of 9 Italian destinations.
"By increasing the number of international flights departing from Italy for Bucharest-Otopeni, Carpatair is implementing a mid-term development strategy, which also involved the acquisition of three Fokker 70 planes at the end of last year," stated Paula Ardelean, Vice President Sales and Marketing.
“This new link and the business partnership with the airline Carpatair is very important to us,” commented Fabio Bortolazzi, President of Catullo Spa. “One of our business goals is to be the recognised stepping-off point for air traffic from the catchment area to the countries of Southeast Europe. This is partly due to the fact that analysts indicate that these countries are set to grow steadily, with industrial output in Romania having risen by more than 7% in the first months of this year, after having shot up by 8.3% in December 2009. What’s more, looking specifically at economic relations between Romania and our region, the Chamber of Commerce reports exports from the Province of Verona worth nearly 160 million Euros last year and more than a billion euros from the entire Veneto region”.
"We have the advantage of 10 years of experience in links between Italy and Romania and during this period we have learned to recognise this market’s needs and provide services to satisfy those needs. That’s why we are now the leader in this segment. Our mission is well-known “to provide our customers with quality service at reasonable prices” and that will be applied to the direct Verona – Bucharest flights. Especially as regards the fares we have prepared for customers planning to take advantage of the new flights,” Paula Ardelean added.
The new direct Verona - Bucharest flights will operate according to the following schedule and on the following days
Verona – Bucarest: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday - p. 16:30 a. 19:30
Bucarest – Verona: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday - p. 15:00 a. 16:00
Times are shown in local time
Flights will operate using modern Fokker 70 aeroplanes, seating 72 passengers and providing full on-board service, both in business and economy class.
Founded in 1999, Carpatair is the largest regional airline in Southeast Europe, operating mainly in regional niche markets. Since 2000, Carpatair has developed the best air hub in Romania - in Timisoara -, providing passengers with connecting flights for any of the destinations that the airline serves in less than 20 minutes. Carpatair flies to 10 national airports and 18 airports abroad. The company offers a total of 330 flights per week to 28 destinations in seven countries. From 2009 onward, Carpatair began increasing the number of flights to Italy, inaugurating direct flights from Bucharest (Otopeni) and Craiova.
