Carmine Bassetti is the new Director General of Catullo Spa, the management company of Verona and Brescia Airports
Verona, March 27, 2012 – Carmine Bassetti was appointed Director General of Verona and Brescia Airports by the President and the Board of Directors of Catullo Spa. He will take office starting April 30, 2012.
Carmine Bassetti, 55, has been in the airports business for 25 years; he has held the role of "Head of Airports" since 2009, particularly involved in the development and management of Istanbul "Sabiha Gokcen Airport" on behalf of GMR International Group, a company active in the sector of the airports, of the energy, and of the connecting infrastructure, based first in London and then in Istanbul.
In the previous years, from 2005 to 2007, with the role of Executive Vice President of ADR (the management company of Rome Airports), he was "Director of the Aeronautical Activities" of ADR, before becoming the person in charge of the "International Projects of the Airports of Rome".
Still in ADR, he started his professional experience in 1988, within the "Planning and Development Division", where he worked for ten years. His career took him in South Africa where he stayed from 1998 to 2005 with the role of "Executive Director of the Aeronautical Activities".
The Airport President Paolo Arena, introducing the Director General to the State Authorities, the Airlines and the media, underlined his great experience in the airports sector: "We felt that the wide background gained at international level and his consolidated experience in the field, identified in Carmine Bassetti the ideal profile for the role of Director General between the examined applications. His thorough, international knowledge of airports business, in its complexity, will bring an important contribution to the relaunch of the airports in which we operate".
