Verona Airport and Veronafiere exhibition centre, working together for the 46th edition of the Marmomacc trade fair. Special fares for flights from Germany and web check-in service from the fair.

Verona, 12 September 2011 –For the 46th edition of Marmomacc, special fares are available on flights between Verona Airport and Germany, in view of the large numbers of both visitors and exhibitors coming from the German market. Last year Catullo Airport recorded a 10% rise in passengers on flights from Germany during the four days of the fair, compared to the 2009 edition. Through the Marmomacc website (www.marmomacc.it), Lufthansa, the official airline of the fair, is offering special dedicated fairs. Air Dolomiti runs daily flights from Munich and Frankfurt.

Airberlin, Germany's second-largest airline, flies six times a week from Berlin and Düsseldorf to Verona, with fares starting at € 44.99 one way. Tickets can be booked on the website airberlin.com, through the airline's Service Center (tel. 01805 – 737 800) or through travel agencies. Prices are inclusive of taxes, charges and topbonus airmiles.

Options for travelling between Verona and the German market also include the Cologne flight run by Germanwings, which offers fares from € 29.99 one way, inclusive of taxes, with an € 8 surcharge for credit card payments. Germanwings flights can be booked on the website germanwings.com, by calling 199 25 70 13 or through travel agencies.

In order to offer passengers an efficient service at the airport on the occasion of the fair, Veronafiere and Verona Airport will work together to set up a welcome desk in the Arrivals Terminal, and a free web check-in service will be available at the exhibition centre. On each day of the event, inside Galleria delle Erbe (between Pavilions 4 and 5), there will be a dedicated area where passengers may check in and collect their boarding card, for flights with the airlines offering this service. This will allow travellers with hand luggage only to then proceed straight to the gate at the airport. Those with baggage to be checked into the hold need only carry out the usual drop-off procedures. For full information on web check-in and further details on flights, see www.aeroportoverona.it.
