Starting tomorrow at the airport press room and lasting all week-end, the specialisation course on “Air crash risks” is designed for Civil Defence volunteers.
The course was organized by the Civil Defence and Environmental Protection Association of Verona and funded by the Province of Verona, the Volunteer Centre Organization, and of corse the Airports Sistema del Garda, together with the Veneto Region. The course is aimed at training volunteers on intervention actions in case of air crash: from dangerous explosions handling to curious crowding and first-aiders safety.
The airport will play an active role in the lessons, thanks to the presence of the trainer and responsible for Airside Safety Mr Cristiano Folchi, who will illustrate the aeronautical emergency strategies contained in the airport emergency plan, which has been drawn up by the Catullo managing company and approved by ENAC (National Civil Aviation Authority).
“The airport has ever been careful to security matters, and today more then ever today” declared Fulvio Cavalleri President of Catullo. “Our cooperation in this course if further sign of our growing attention to passengers, as well as airlines and all airport operators”. The Councillor for Civil Defence LucioCampedelli stated: “Civil Defence volunteers training is a strategic aim that our Province wants to accomplish, in cooperation with all other local authorities that are involved in the difficult emergency handling operations.”
